Our Horsley Hotties...

Ok, I think I am the luckiest girl in the world! I'm married to the greatest man in the whole world! And he's gorgeous too! Thanks for the fun date night guys! I love you Scott!

Breakfast Buddies

This was too cute not to post. The little kids were always up first thing in the morning ready to eat, but of course they each have to have their personal entertainment... individual cereal boxes for a little light reading!

New Year's Eve 2008

PARTY ANIMALS!!! We had a crab fest with all the fixings for dinner, non-stop guitar hero, games, wrestling in our living room (kids only :0) ), a dance-off where Shelly and Amy showed off their crazy moon walk skills, confetti, horns and hats and smooching at midnight... who could ask for more?! Oh yeah, and thank goodness for 10:00 pm eastern time where the little kids can celebrate, go to bed and no one is any more the wiser in the morning!

Need we say more?

Christmas Fun with our Cousins!

Brett & Amy brought their crew to see us a couple days after Christmas and we had such an amazing time! Our kids are lined up perfectly (except for Abby, but she's not about to be left out) and they are the best of friends! We had so much fun staying up late, going to the movies, playing games, going to Boondocks and creating wonderful memories. We love you guys!!!

Christmas Eve 2008

We had the blessing of going over to Paul & Bev's house for Christmas Eve and had a wonderful time. It is so great to have such fabulous friends when you live away from family. So speaking of family, after seeing the Rockwood wardrobes we think Brandon may have been misplaced at birth! He seems to fit right in! The Fab-Four helped us celebrate with a rousing rendition of "We Wish You a Merry Christmas!" We were hoping for an encore, but they were a one-act show. :0)

Nate's Nutella Night

Our wonderful friends, the Rockwood family, brought us the greatest Christmas treat thanks to Nate. They introduced him to the wonderful world of Nutella. Now, Nate has had Nutella before, but only with things like toast or crepes or maybe an occasional sandwich, but the Rockwood's introduced him to the idea that "Everything tastes good with Nutella!" So the Rockwood's and Nate set out to see if there is anything that doesn't taste good with Nutella. So we received a Nutella smorgasbord to experiment with. As you can see there were delicious things like marshmallow, bagels, bananas and dried apricots, but a few things I was leary of like the salt and vinegar pringles, nacho doritos and the cheese sticks. Everyone dug in and discovered, "Everything does taste great with Nutella!" (Some of the things just require a little more coverage than others)! Thanks Rockwood's for a memorable treat! (BTW~ we now have a sandwich called "The Nate" which consists of peanut butter, nutella and sliced up bananas. A huge hit with the kids)!

Our Elf Wilfey

Our new favorite Christmas tradition this year was our new
family elf (AKA Elf on the Shelf) named Wilfey. (Josh picked
the name)! He came to our house shortly after Thanksgiving to watch the comings and goings of our home. Every night he would go back to Santa to report on everyone's behavior and he would find a new spot to perch himself every morning. The kids would have to find him which was occassionally a challenge. He was a little tricky sometimes! After Christmas he went away and will be back during the next holiday season to see who's being naughty or nice. (Do you think we can start around July 4th?)

Black Friday at the Horsley Home

Forget Kohls or Target for your Black Friday shopping, next time head to the Horsley's house for all your gift needs. The kids got together and created handmade one-of-a-kind gifts for everyone on your list. It was so fun to shop their "Thanksgiving Sale" and there were even more savings the day after. They had paper-clip bracelets with eraser charms, origami cranes of every shape and size, journals, paper vases (not sure they thought that one through) and paper wallets. They turned our office inside out and turned out a profit for themselves. What great little entrepeneurs! However... we need to talk about my paper supply. :0)

Thanksgiving 2008

I know it's a little past turkey time, but better late than never, right?! We had a wonderful Thanksgiving full of food, fun and the flu- bug. Luckily the master chef (that's me!) didn't get it, so we had a great meal! The boys said it was the best turkey they had ever eaten... (the secret being the Williams-Sonoma Turkey Brine - Deeeeelicious)! Scott and the boys had a great day of Turkey-Bowl Football with an unforgettable tackle from Nate resulting in taking out our darling 5 year old friend Ella (sorry Michael & Kay)! We loved having the cousins over and are so grateful they made the trek over the mountains! These pictures are from our "We've got to get out of the house Chuck E. Cheese party!"

My Mom and Dad asked for a family picture for their Christmas newletter, so after realizing that it has been over a year since we've had a picture all together, we had to throw something together real fast! I asked my neighbor to come take a few pictures and she did wonderful; but I can't say the same for the kids! Abby doesn't believe in smiling with her eyes open, and Nate doesn't believe in taking pictures with a regular smile, and Tyson always looks like he wants to be hiding behind someone! So this is the best of what we got! It goes to show we truly need professional help!!

5 Big boos and 1 little ghoul!

Happy Halloween! Tyson was "Dr. Love," Brandon was... well we don't know what Brandon was, Nate went as Yoda (obviously), the cute little Batman is Josh and of course Abby is our darling ladybug! She seems to think that smiling constitutes having her eyes closed, so this is as good as it gets!
(If you are wondering where Ryan was... well, he missed out on the first part of the fun thanks to football. His team made it to the play-offs, so they were diligently practicing even on Halloween). They all had a great time trick or treating with friends and collecting quite a stash! We celebrated with our annual Colorado tradition of going to Colleen Jones' home with several family friends. We had a fabulous time!

The Horsley Herd in Colorado

So, I finally did it! I figured out how to create a blogspot! It may take me awhile to figure out how to get this working right... but it will be worth it right?! I love checking our friends and families blogspots, so we hope this adds a better line of communication from our world to yours.
